Podcasts - para quem está aprendendo inglês

Existem podcasts já gravados em inglês dando dicas, ensinando expressões ou lendo notícias em velocidade reduzida para quem ainda está melhorando o listening.
Learning English Voice of America
Ouça e me fale o que você achou!
6 Minute English BBC
Aprenda e pratique a linguagem para situações do dia a dia e tópicos atuais. Um episódio novo vai ao ar toda quinta feira. A velocidade é um pouco mais rápida. Recomendo para você que quer se desafiar!

Father's Day around the world

Father's Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society.

The tradition was said to be started from a memorial service held for a large group of men who died in a mining accident in Monongah, West Virginia in 1907. It was first proposed by Sonora Dodd of Spokane, Washington in 1909. It is currently celebrated in the United States annually on the third Sunday in June.

My Family - a speaking activity

Student A and student B are two siblings who " have lost their memory" as a result of a serious fight.

They ask each other general/special questions to find out the facts they don't remember and circle the right words / fill in the missing information.

ABC flashcards and game ideas

Here are 4 sets with the cards (with just images, capital letters, small letters and the full set).

Boys and girls - a speaking game - activity for young students

This game  help  first and second graders learn to talk about people's namesage andmood (sad/happy). It's also a good way to revise colours and numbers (1-14), as well as practise making affirmative, negative and interrogative sentences using to be (am, is are) and differentpronouns

Should teachers be able to have tattoos?

I think it's a great way to show our students not to be judgemental and also teach them about individuality.

It's a great way to go beyond the stereotype and lead by example, showing our students that we must not judge a book by its cover.

Absolute Beginner English

Teaching absolute beginners requires the teacher to pay special attention to the order in which new language is introduced. The teacher lesson plan plays an essential role in making sure that new grammar is introduced slowly and successfully. This 20 point program provides a syllabus to take students from speaking no English at all, to being able to fulfill basic communication needs including; giving personal information and describing their daily routines and the world around them.
Obviously, there is a lot more to speaking English confidently than these twenty points. This 20 point program has been designed to provide a strong base on which to build while, at the same time, providing learners with the most important language skills they will need to get going.
