COMO ACABAR COM A PROCRASTINAÇÃO DE FORMA SIMPLES


Procrastinar, a “arte” de deixar para amanhã.



Por exemplo, digamos que eu precise estudar todos os dias um capítulo de um livro. O livro tem 100 capítulos e eu programo terminar o estudo em 100 dias. Simples: 1 capítulo a cada 1 dia.
Se eu procrastinar, no primeiro dia, deixo para começar no segundo dia. 
No segundo dia, tenho que estudar dois capítulos (o do dia anterior e o do dia de hoje). Mas, isto parece um pouco ruim… então eu penso começar no terceiro dia, pois hoje não estou muito afim. 
No terceiro dia, tenho que estudar o capítulo de hoje e dos dois dias anteriores… agora imagina isto em 30, 60, 90 dias! 
As coisas vão se acumulando até chegar um ponto no qual não se faz nada.

Olympic Games



The Olympic Games, the world’s most important sporting competition, take place every four years. The Olympic motto is ‘citius-altius-fortius’ (faster-higher-stronger).

The 2016 Summer Olympics (PortugueseJogos Olímpicos de Verão de 2016),[1] "officially known as the Games of the XXXI Olympiad, and commonly known as Rio 2016, are a major international multi-sport event that will take place in Rio de JaneiroBrazil, from August 5 to August 21, 2016. Record numbers of countries and sets of medals are awaiting in the games. More than 10,500 athletes from 206 National Olympic Committees(NOCs), including from Kosovo and South Sudan for the first time, will take part in this sporting event.[2] With 306 sets of medals, the games will feature 28 Olympic sports — including rugby sevens and golf, which were added by the International Olympic Committee in 2009. These sporting events will take place on 33 venues in the host city and additionally on 5 venues in the cities of São Paulo (Brazil's largest city), Belo Horizonte,SalvadorBrasília (Brazil's capital), and Manaus.[2]"

How to Practice Your English with Facebook

On Facebook, you can join conversations without worrying about how you say things. To actually learn from your experience, here are some tips that you can use:
  • Make sure your language is set to English. Facebook is available in a few different languages. Your account might be in your native language now. If it isn’t in English, change it to English. Seeing English all the time will help you practice reading it – and you’re probably familiar enough with Facebook to know what all the words mean.
  • Read the comments. The comments on Facebook posts don’t always have the best grammar, but that’s what makes them real. This is where you’ll see how people really speak English. If you notice a word or phrase repeated more than a few times, find out what it means. It might be a good phrase to add to your vocabulary.
  • Leave your own comments. Every time you read a post or an article that someone shared, add a comment. The person posting will appreciate your comment, but you’ll also be using your English skills. Leaving a comment also means others might reply to you, and before you know it you’ll be having a conversation in English.
  • Write status updates. Practice your English by posting status updates to your own Facebook profile. The status update can be anything—what you’re doing right now, a random thought you had or an interesting article you just read.
  • Follow topics that interest you. You might already be connected with your friends and acquaintances (people you know but are not really friends with). If you haven’t already, you might also want to follow pages and groups on topics that are interesting to you. Love horses? Find a community on Facebook that loves talking about horses. It’s easier to talk to people when you have a shared interest.
  • Make English-speaking friends. Try to become friends on Facebook with native English speakers. The nice thing about Facebook is that you can ask anyone to be your “friend.” You probably don’t want to approach a complete stranger, but you might find a friend in someone who’s in the same group as you, or who you share an interest with.
  • Find online practice buddies. Aside from becoming friends with English speakers, you can also find a practice buddy on Facebook. In many of the pages below you’ll notice people looking for others to practice speaking English with. Be friendly, say hello to them and you might find some great practice buddies—and maybe you’ll even make some new friends.

Using Flashcards With Young Learners

When introducing vocabulary to young learners, it’s great to use real items that capture children’s attention. However, it’s not always possible or realistic for teachers to use real items in the classroom. Flashcards can be a great way to introduce new vocabulary so that learners have a very clear understanding of the word or concept.
When using flashcards or picture cards to introduce vocabulary in the classroom, try to create some suspense or mystery about the cards. Students are more receptive to learning when they are curious. Rather than just flipping through the cards and having students repeat the words, incorporate the cards into activities. This will help students be more invested and more likely to remember the words.

Olympic Games - Olympic Activities

The Olympic Games, both summer and winter, are a wonderful opportunity to get the kids excited about sport, friendly competition, national pride and counting medals! 
And we've not long to wait now, with the next Summer Olympics starting on Friday 5th August and running through to Sunday 21st August, in Brazil.
It will be the Games of the XXXI Olympiad. We can't wait!

Como Escolher Materiais para Estudar Línguas

Até hoje, nunca encontrei um material perfeito para estudar línguas. Por perfeição, eu entendo um material que fosse suficiente para levar alguém desde o zero até a fluência.
Quando um é bom para ensinar pronúncia, é fraco em vocabulário. Quando é bom em vocabulário, não tem didática ou não usa exemplos de frases úteis, ...

Então, nós temos que resolver as ineficiências deles, usando talvez uns 2 ou 3 materiais para cada estágio do aprendizado.

The 4th of July

Today is a very important holiday in the United States. 
On the 4th of July, the country celebrates its Independence Day
All across the country, Americans enjoy time off from work for the holiday. 
On these days off, people like to spend time with friends and family doing a variety of activities. Learning about the 4th of July also provides a great insight into American culture.
Let’s take a closer look at this holiday and some of its customs:



Back in 1776, there was no such thing as the United States. There were thirteen colonies at the time, and they were still a part of the British empire. Conflict began with England, which led the colonies to convene a Continental Congress. They met in the Pennsylvania State House (now Independence Hall) in June. A representative from Virginia – Richard Henry Lee – presented a resolution to the congress with these words:

Resolved: That these United Colonies are, and of right ought to be, free and independent States, that they are absolved from all allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain is, and ought to be, totally dissolved.”
