Dia dos namorados - Brasil comemora numa data diferente de todo mundo

A tradição de comemorar o Dia dos Namorados existe há muito tempo. Contam que na Roma antiga, no século 1 d.C., o cruel imperador Cláudio proibiu os soldados de se casarem, para serem mais eficientes na guerra. Nem todos cumpriam a ordem, no entanto. O soldados muito apaixonados, que insistiam em se casar, procuravam um certo padre Valentim.

O padre Valentim celebrou muitos casamentos, em cerimônias secretas. Até que um dia, durante o casamento de um jovem casal, foi descoberto. Por sua desobediência, foi condenado à morte e martirizado. Era o dia 14 de fevereiro.

Os cristãos transformaram-no em santo. O dia em que são Valentim morreu tornou-se o Dia de São Valentim, e também Dia dos Namorados. Cada país comemora essa data de um jeito especial. Nos Estados Unidos e no Canadá, as crianças confeccionam cartões com papéis decorados e mensagens, que distribuem para seus amigos e colegas.

Na Itália, a data é comemorada com um grande banquete. No país de Gales, os presentes podem ser colheres esculpidas em madeira, pintadas com chaves, corações e fechaduras. No Japão as mulheres dão aos seus namorados caixas de chocolate. Na Inglaterra, as crianças cantam canções e ganham de seus pais doces e frutas.

Enfim, em quase todo o mundo, o dia 14 de fevereiro tornou-se Dia dos Namorados!

A story tells that two friends

were walking
through the desert
During some point of the
Journey they had an
Argument, and one friend
Slapped the other one
In the face.
The one who got slapped
was hurt, but without
saying anything,
wrote in the sand:

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND
SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE .

They kept on walking
until they found an oasis,
where they decided
to take a bath.
The one who had been
slapped got stuck in the
mire and started drowning,
but the friend saved him.
After he recovered from
the near drowning,
he wrote on a stone:

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND
SAVED MY LIFE.

The friend who had slapped
and saved his best friend
asked him, "After I hurt you,
